What you need
- Two phones running Android 8.0 or later.
- Welcome Back installed and monitoring on both phones.
- Bluetooth enabled and the required nearby-device permissions allowed.
- Notifications enabled so you can receive the return alert.
You pair the phones by manually sharing a 16-character code. Bluetooth provides the primary presence signal; same-Wi-Fi detection is a secondary signal.
A straightforward purchase
Welcome Back is a paid download with no ads or subscription. Google Play shows the current price and availability for your country and account.
A purchase is associated with the Google account used to buy the app. Each phone you want to pair needs the app installed.
Looking for an iPhone version?
An iPhone version is in development. There is no public App Store or TestFlight link to share yet.
The setup instructions on this website apply to the Android app.
Once it is installed
Pair your phones, allow the required permissions, and turn on monitoring on both devices. Welcome Back can then notify you when a paired phone returns after being away for two minutes.
